Welcome To The Kud Nematology Lab at University of Arkansas!
The estimated annual crop damage caused by plant parasitic nematodes have a significant economic impact, leading to at least $8 billion in losses in the United States alone and between $80 and $157 billion worldwide.
focuses on studying biology and genetics of plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs). Our research encompasses various aspects such as molecular plant-nematode interactions, biochemical plant defenses, nematode population genetics, and advanced diagnostic methods for the nematode detection.
In the longer term, the insights gained from laboratory, field, and greenhouse studies will inform management decisions, thereby promoting economically and environmentally sustainable options for nematode control.
